8800GT 512MB Superclocked
Audigy 2ZS

The sound breaks up when in Internet explorer and scrolling up and down on a page. And sometimes with the Audigy 2 ZS it goes all robotic.

I tried it with Onboard, and the Audigy 2ZS.

Having a similar problem, using Vista x64. Wondering if its time for a sound card upgrade.

But it does it with onboard as well.

not much detail on your issue to go off of

so this is only when you are scrolling in Internet Explorer? that may be your mouse wheel clicking, not the sound breaking up ;)

No, the sound distorts and breaks up. And sometimes it even made the Audigy 2ZS go all robotic. I thought it was the audigy's drivers but it wasnt. I tried it with onboard sound and it still distorts, and it is not only when I scroll up and down, it is anything to do with Internet Explorer.

Sorry, I'm just not comprehending your English very well.

Perhaps it is not the computer, but whatever the sound is going to? Hard to make a suggestion with the lack of details.

My computer does not make any sound when scrolling in IE... nor does the sound card jump out and go robotic, attacking people and pets. One time it pulled a dinosaur's finger, and a bus came out.

When I say robotic it sounds like when you go into teamspeak, and set the codec really low making peoples voices robotic.

I've got vista home premium 32 bit and i'm having some sound crackling or stuttering issues too. I run world of warcraft, windows media player, firefox, and ventrilo a lot. It seems when i'm playing a game of any kind or doing anything while audio is playing it will stutter and crackle some. It's pretty annoying and i think i might be a service pack 1 thing, since i don't remember this being a problem before that.

What is with everyone? Vista doesn't act right. Go Windows XP it won't let you down. Vista will.

just like a noob,

Anyways I have no audio issues with my setup, I can tell you early on I have some popping and drop outs, but that has been cleared up as new drivers have come out. any audio issues are doing to be due to driver maturity or just plain hardware issues. as a lot of hardware vender's have advised Vista changed a lot on timings and how drivers work and with that a lot of work has to be done with drivers for Vista.

Meanwhile, while Creative's been getting whacked over Microsoft's changed audio stack in Vista (compared to XP), I have to say that they have provided a pain-free driver experience with my older Audigy 2 ZS (which my mom now has, and *yes*, she's also running Vista Ultimate x86), and my X-Fi XtremeGamer (where I spend a surprising amount of time playing back MP3s and other tuneage while I play around with the new EAX Audio Environments, which have changed quite a bit from the ZS, as I have two new environments, Royal Hall and Stone Hall, and my old favorite, the Concert Hall, is gone). Right now I'm listening to some guitar instrumentals (Norman Brown's "Just Between Us", to be precise) with the Stone Hall Environment set (Entertainment Mode of course) while typing these words. (And while I haven't upgraded my speakers themselves, I have a much nicer sound presence compared to my ZS, even when listening to music. A side-benefit I certainly had not expected.)
