I thought that if you had automatic updates on you wouldn't need to install sp1? isn't sp1 all those updates that you get regularly? Today it asked me to install sp1:confused:

you need to install SP1. I don't know if it's windows update yet. But a direct download link is in a thread a few posts down.

You can get it by Windows Update or by downloading the file, which would be much better if you think you'll ever reinstall, or will use it on other systems.

i had to hit check for updates about 4 times but sure enough it popped up :)

Downloading now.....if i dont post back in like 30 the install failed :D

Wow I just installed it right now without a hitch...My external firewire Hard drive transfer speeds increased from 25MB/sec to 35MB/sec....thank you sp1
