I am currently looking to purchase a new 24 inch monitor for office use. The main use will be to read and create text and graphics, yet a spot of light photo-editing may be performed at a later stage.

The majority of users on this forum seem to either place emphasis on game performance (input lag and the likes) or on dedicated graphics work, neither of which are of prime importance to me. Clarity of text however is.

The questions are hence:

- How do monitors such as the Dell 2407-HC & 2408 WFP and the LG L245WP (L246WP) perform during office tasks?

- Can anybody share experiences with the NEC LCD2470WNX? The screen is targeted towards office use apparently, yet the immense 500 cd/m2 worries me. Can the brightness be lowered enough for comfortable work during medium light conditions?

- Are there any other PVA/MVA based screens available on the European market which excel for office use? Preferably not of the NEC 2490 or Eizo price category.

- Would a good TN panel be a better alternative for office use? If yes, then which model would currently provide the best solution?

Thanks in advance for the help!
