During installation of Win XP HE the partition for an external HDD was accidentally deleted. I have been working with Active Partition Recovery but with little results. That is to say that it recognizes the files after a deep scan of the disk surface but I am having troubles recovering the actual files. Normally I would just format and start over but there are a lot of irreplacable files and I would like to learn how to recover data from HDD's.
Can anyone help? Many thanks in advance
Oh yeah its a Seagate 200gb Ultra ATA 7500rpm drive in case that info is needed
