I wasn't sure if this belongs here or in the OS threads...
Vista has a feature which allows you to resize partitions while in windows. If i had 3 paritions, and i shrink and expanded them a lot, would the partitions stay intact? meaning the first partition is still 100% on the outter rim of the disk?

well the partition system that Vista uses is pretty much straight forward, kinda crappy, i donīt like it. If u are planning to resize your partitions a lot iīd suggest to u to get yourself some better partition program like the one from Acronis, there must be a Vista version.
and yes resizing partitions on-the-fly adds some risk, so u should make backup copies of all your pr0... err... i mean your "sensible data" before attempting to do this.

Yes. At least I'm pretty sure.
I don't think it's actually possible for a single partition to take up a non-contiguous amount of physical space on the drive, which is why whenever you shrink/expand/create partitions with Vista it still has to go through it's 'moving data' stage.

well the reason was that I keep my os on the first parition, so if it were to expand and I needed more space then I would like to know that it's still all together, meaning it's still at the outter part of the disk.
