I just bought a Western Digital Raptor, the new 150 Gigabyte one. I re-installed Windows XP to this drive. Everything seems faster/more responsive. Man, this drive is awesome! :D

The only problem is I am running out of space in my current case, so I had to mount the drive on the very bottom slot, and there is not much air circulating around the drive.

At idle/semi-idle, checking email, etc. the hard drive temp. is 45 degrees Celcius. It goes up to 46-48 C. with high activity, like defragging.

Is this too high of a temp. for a modern hard drive?

Thanks for any replies.

According to WD's website, they specify the operating temperature as 5° C to 55° C. You're well within that range, so no worries.
