Who's using SP3?

Hey. I was just curious how many people are running XP with SP3 and what they think of it?

I was using it for a while and it was running fine. I was duel booting XP and Vista, and I've since switched entirely to vista. But while I was running SP3, I had zero problems.

Running Xp sp3 on a Inspiron 9100 and a C2D desktop. No drama on either machine...

Nice. Yeah, I downloaded it earlier, and I've got it installed now. Seems fine to me. I don't really notice anything different, as far as some things saying it brings a slight performance increase, but yeah, it's good.

I use it. Works great as in not breaking anything. Only improvement I've noticed was that it delivered an instant server connection to COD4 where it used to delay or time out totally. That's about all difference I noticed.

is this the official release xp sp 3 or the compiled hotfix one? I heard the compilied hotfix one will be missing some things that will be out on the official release.

I've been running SP3 this week and the only thing I've noticed is that it takes longer to print.

I'm running it on my laptop with XP MCE. Seems a little more responsive than it was before the update.

There is an offical version, but it's not RTM yet.

I haven't heard an exact date yet, but it's pretty solid. They're probably just holding off until Vista SP1 rolls out so they don't have to deal with two major patches at the same time.

Best I could find for an official release date was 1h CY2008 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/lifecycle/servicepacks.mspx). I've seen other release dates saying it'll be in April.

I'm just going to wait until it shows up on Windows Update. Though I think I'll be doing a fresh install just prior to it becoming available.

The official word on this from Microsoft is "1st half of calendar year 2008". So technically, they will release it before June 30th. No official hard date yet. Read for yourself...

Yeah, I'm still using it as well, and no problems here. Seems to be working fine, haha.
