I have a 3Com Super Stack II 3300 XM (switch).
The problem I am having is that when I connected it to the central switch it wont (dono the appropriate term) stack. I was trying to use it as the secondary switch for our computer lab at school but because it wont stack I cannot. The main switch is a 3Com either superstack III or baseline. I wanted to know if there is something I am doing wrong or if someone else has had this problem (computers connected to it do network and are able to send files back and forth but can't connect to the server or internet.
I tired it with my Linksys vonage router and it works fine.(all 24 ports)

do you need to use a cross over cable?

Are you using the stack port on the back with the special 3Com cable or using an ethernet cable on the front?

If I remember correctly those 3300 XM's don't have auto crossover.

If you're using the stack port not all 3com switches will stack with each other through that port.

I thought the SuperStacker II & III have auto MDX? I made a standard network cable for it, they work with all of the other switches I've tried, but the SS II and III dont seem to like each other.
I guess I should try a cross over cable, didnt think about that.
