Hi, i need to get 1tb of data from 3x320gb disks out of the way whilst i create a raid z array on there. What would be the best way to do this?

I was thinking about going to a local superstore and buying a 1tb drive, doing the transferring then taking it back for a refund?

fry's, most parts are returnable within 30 days, if you do it in a day or two, shouldn't be an issue, but you will want to read the fine print on hard drive returns first.

It's a common deal known as the "fry's rental". I've known guys that will rent gear for up to a week and return it, and the only cost being gas and a little frustration dealing with their return line.

Not sure if they carry 1TB drives yet though, pretty sure they don't except for the NAS devices like buffalo's (4x 250GB).
