I just changed from 32bit Vista premium to 64bit vista premium to get all the use out of my 4GB...
it only shows 3GB.. Is there something i need to do? i thought the 64bit addressing would take care of it.
Specs below.
Any ideas? Thanks.

hmm... im using the abit IP35 PRO, There seems to be no option for memory remapping on this board, alls what i can find is something about resources, which ive set from AUTO to MANUAL, no change.

Update your BIOS. I had the same issue but updating my BIIOS solved it for me.

update:
The bios is the newest version already,
What did fix this for me was installing Service Pack 1 RC.

did you upgrade from 32 bit to 64? The SP1 for 32 now shows 4GB but it still wont use it, only vista 64 will.

That doesn't fix anything. With sp1 ms has started stating how much memory is installed, not how much it can use. The 32 bit version will show 4 gigs even though it can't use all of it.
Pulled a quote from softpedia as I can't find the ms article I was looking for.
"With SP1, Windows Vista will report the amount of system memory installed rather than report the amount of system memory available to the OS. Therefore 32-bit systems equipped with 4GB of RAM will report all 4BG in many places throughout the OS, such as the System Control Panel. However, this behavior is dependent on having a compatible BIOS, so not all users may notice this change"
