why is it so difficult to find a 2gb memory stick?

certainly by now we should have already 2gb sticks for sale, but it's difficult to find and expensive, why is that?

yeah, I'm kicking myself right now for not waiting, and paying out the wazoo for 2GB of Corsair Dominator. Could of gotten some really nice 2x2GB kits much cheaper now than before; much cheaper than I payed for my 2GB..

Until you get to the stuff that's supposedly marketed to the extreme overclockers, it's all relatively cheap.

DDR3 is new and not in widespread use, so it's going to be very expensive at first. When systems change to using DDR3 instead of DDR2 though, the prices should come down a lot.

Well, duh. DDR3 just came out. Which is why I'm running 2x1gb for now, and I'll go to more when prices come down.
