I've been thinking about getting a xbox 360 and was thinking about getting Live. I heard that you can play matches against people across the world and my question is, will it lag when you do so?

You'll see it once in a while, and since XBL is a P2P network some games provide a host advantage, but for the most part it's a solid system with very little lag.

agreed. I have rarely, actually almost never had any lag playing over live. Go for it.

I get lag in at least 1-2 cod4 games a night.. Lag is dependent on your conection to the internet and whoever is hosting the match of what ever game you are playing.. soo it's kind of a crap shoot. For the most part though it works great and I couldn't live w/ out it. I love spending money on arcade games and movies, as well as getting all of the demo's etc. It's a pretty damned good online service.

You'll have problems if someone is trying to host a large match that their connection isn't capable of.
