what's the best way to monitor this?

i know you can use various read write performance counters in mmc.

which counters should i be looking to log. or is there a nice easy gui based bit of software i can use instead.

i'm trying to determine the level at which my quad is beind throttled by my sata2 hard drives.

If you have vista there is a nice performance monitor in computer management. It shows usage in a nice gui understandable format.
If you have XP the built in MMC sucks.
I havent used external programs to monitor usage so I cant help there

i'm still using xp atm.

thinking of switching to vista (might get the missus to buy it me for xmas) but seems little incentive with the performance hit.

i'm sure i saw a screenshot of a disk analysis piece of software on this forum but can't find it anymore.
