Windows XP Partition

Ok,
after finishing my new build I installed windows XP and chose to install it to a 40GB partition. I have a 250gig drive. I had never partitioned before and must've misunderstood it. How can I access the remaining 200gig of space? Or can I not access that now? If I can't is it only a reformat that can fix this?

go to disk management
control panel->administrative tools->computer management->disk management

you see your disk w/ your 40gb partition as well as the unpartitioned space, just right click and create the basic partition.
