I have a Thecus 2050 sata box, with two hard drives in raid1 in it. When I use it via usb and use other usb devices, usb printer, etc system crashes. I tried using it with esata on my Asus P5B, and JBmicron controller, set the controller to ahci. I want to be able to turn on/off the box while windows is on. Doesnt seem to work all. System wont see my Thecus, until I reboot and wait for JBmicron bios to see it. If I turn it off my Thecus, windows will crash. The hotplug is not working at all.
Thanks

I'm not familiar with that board, and don't know about any ports specifically set-up for eSATA, but to use the hot swap on the JBmicron controller, you're gonna hafta load the ACHI drivers before you set it to that mode in your BIOS.
Usually that's done when you install the OS, but somebody around here did it after they installed the OS. I remember reading how they did it, but I can't seem to find the post.
