I'm probably going with the Raptor X (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136011) HDD but was wondering if their is one with out the window and one that is not OEM because from what I hear all you would get is the HDD and not the SATA cable.
What would be a good storage HDD. The Raptor will just be used for the OS and all of my games need to find one just for storage.

All four of my Raptors are the kind without the window in them. Mine are full retail packaged drives too.

Retail Raptor 150GB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136034), OEM Raptor 150gb (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136012). You'd pay 60.00 for a SATA cable?

lol naw I'll just use a spare one I might end up with with the Abit MoBo. What is the noise difference if anyone knows from the window model of the Raptor X to the non window model?

Many owners have posted there's a SIGNIFICANT difference in noise between the two. Hard drives with winders in 'em is just wrong IMO anyway.

All Raptor X's have the window. The plain jane Raptors do not have the window. It's the same drive as far as performance. The "X" just has the window.

Exactly. A Raptor 150 is $160-190 depending where you get it. Then you get a SATA cable with a latch for $4 cable (http://www.svc.com/gc18akm12.html), Sounds like good savings to me.
