how is life with only 32gb and how much you paid for your ssd drive?

Wondering that myself. Not that I think I would ever buy one at the price they are at now. But I thought they would be pretty cool for a carputer or as a OS only drive.

I'd love two in RAID0.

I'm pretty sure it was 640GB, not MB, and it's not even a SSD, technically. And is $30/GB really all that bad given the incredible transfer speed and number of IOPS?

I don't think SSDs have any benefit for the general enthusiast yet. If PCM comes along and replaces flash, then they'd be way more attractive for the price because of how much faster phase-change is. Samsung, Hynix, and Qimonda have all licensed the technology from Ovonyx so hopefully the wait won't be too much longer.

I'm kinda losing interest in using them for that purpose, something about how fast my laptop boots with the whole "turbo memory" thing enabled.

Now I'm just interested in them fixing the drivers so I can leave it enabled without my programs crashing all the time...
