the RROD is so common that people should consider themselves lucky if they haven't experioenced it yet.

I see so this is your first time OP.

Well most 360 owners call the box microsoft sends you, "The Coffin" just a tidbit of info for you

It sucks to see these, especially since my launch console is still going strong.

Everytime I see one of these it makes me feel I'm getting closer to the inevitable :(

I actually had a good experience. I got a used core system as a gift, then it gave me the 3 red lights. I called them up, sent the box in, and in 2 weeks got it back. Actually recieved it yesterday, and it turns out they gave me a brand new unit. Good show.

Just curious, how long have you been apart of [H] console sub-forum? The fact that your asking "has anyone here done this?", I take it your new? (I can see he's not new to [H]ardForums) :p

Sorry to hear your system failed, never good news. Hopefully you get one back soon to play your new games :)

I had to send mine in and it took under two weeks (got it back wednesday.) When I saw the notice that it would take up to four weeks I panicked, but it's not nearly that bad.

Yep...the launch unit that I waited 15 hours for finally took the dive 5 days before Halo 3 was released.

In any case, MS support was pleasant. They sent a box that arrived 3 days later, and I shipped it off.

I have yet to see what happens from here.

My launch 360 (built October '05) still going great, as well. My mom's actually playing Bioshock on it in the other room right now. But my warranty expired last year, so here's hoping nothing bad happens... at least not until after I've gotten and beaten Mass Effect, please.

Mine took just under 4 weeks to be returned to me, and I got a month of Live Gold back with it... probably because I pay for Gold and umm, didn't have my console for the month.

my march 06 unit gives me dirty disk errors alot and is loud as hell. It hasnt rrod yet. Can i send it in for a crappy dvd-rom? I get dropped from halo 3 matches all the time because it spins down and errors.
