Just an odd occurence I wondered if anyone else had experianced it. A few days ago I had the standard XP welcome screen. Then, automatic update hit and now I have the old NT login screen...

I dont *mind* the NT login screen, I acctually prefer it because it will appow me to access the administrator account should my other accoutns die, but I find it very odd that an update seemed to trigger it.

Has anyone else experianced this? or was it a mier coincidence?

It could possibly have been due to one of the .Net updates, which do add a new user account, ASP.net. Stranger things have happened.

For future reference, if you're using the welcome screen, if you hold CTRL+ALT and tap the DEL key twice, it will bring up the domain style login screen.

I had a similar thing happen to me and it was caused by .NET. Used to be that I could logon by just entering my password but now that I installed .NET I have to click on my username and then enter my password. I expect I can change this as there is an option under user accounts to change how users logon but this way is ok.
