My computer won't stay in sleep mode. I tell it to enter and the fans spin down and then spin right back up to where i started before hand. Could it be usb or my wireless lan? Anyone else experience this? I'm on Vista32

Did it work before and just recently started misbehaving, or is this your first attempt to use S3 suspend on this computer?

This may or may not be the solution for you, but the first thing to do is access 'BIOS Setup' on your rig, and disable any "Wake on..." entries you might find in there. Apart from the entry relevent to the input device you use to wake the PC up, of course!

And yes. Ensure that S3 (suspend) is actually enabled on the rig.

Failing 'problems' in the BIOS Setup configuration on the rig, the next most likely suspect would be a USB-connected device which is 'Shared'.

I would often have this problem. Installing the hotfix titled something like "USB fix rollup" fixed the problem for me.

I've have S3 setup and the 'Wake on's" are disabled. The USB roll up didn't do anything. I had to disable wake by USB in order for sleep to work. My other AMD rig with Vista 64 slept fine with USB enabled. Don't have that rig anymore though.

Weaksauce. I like using my mouse to wake it up.
