Have a conundrum. I cant determine the difference, if any between these two controllers.
The areca 1261: http://www.areca.com.tw/products/pcie341.htm
The Adaptec 31605: http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/products/sata...ance/SAS-31605/
I know they both use an 800mhz IOP, but I cant find which one. The Areca uses the IOP341, but im not sure what the Adaptec uses, as ive seen both IOP333 800mhz (didnt even know that existed), and IOP348
In short, the Areca has a reputation for being the best and fastest controller card on the market, and im wondering what the differences are between it and the adaptec, and if the adaptec would perform comparably, as it has the same hardware, but is almost 400 dollars cheaper.
