Need with installing another hD

hello, i bought a Rosewill ultra ata/133 pci raid card from newegg.com and i was wondering if i could install only one HD on it? without being in RAID.

Mods if links aren't allowed please tell me so i can remove it.

you don't need to do RAID for it to work..it just has the capability to do RAID if you wanted to.

Just install it and hook up your drive..it should see it just fine.

thats what i thought to... just install and hook it and it should run fine... but it isn't detecting the drive. It does as a SCSI through the BIOS though.

Seeing it as a SCSI device is fine..
if you can see the drive in BIOS, go to start>right click on my computer>click on "manage" then disk management...is it in there?..if so, it probably just needs to be initialized or formatted...


did the card have software?..did you install it?

its not in there =/ , but i know the motherboard recongize it because i went to BIOS to check the booting devices and its label in there. I did install the CD that came with in.
