View Full Version : Raid on 2 different HD brands

I have 2 80 gig hard drives. One is a WD800JD the other is a seagate 80g sata drive (don't remember the model number). If I raid these two together would I see an increase in performance?
BTW this computer is only used to play World of Warcraft and Guild Wars

Not really, your limited by the connections to the server on both games.

What about load screens. The reason I'm considering this is because I keep getting ganked before I fully load :(

Don't log out in a hostile area, log out in a friendly town.
Your not reading that much data, you may save .1 seconds.

I would be surprised if the raid controller let you put these two entirely different drives in a raid array. They need to be the same model for raid configurations to work.
If you had a raid array would you see a difference? I doubt it.
