Long story but basically......I bought some ram for my new system, but i dont have the Mobo yet so i tested it on my brothers Vista Q6600 680i system..took out his 4 gigs and put my new corsair 6400C4 in. It booted but did a memory count and gave the timings on the boot screen....it finally booted into Vista but not very quick at all.

Now, I took out my ram and put his back in (Geil 4x1GB) and since then his computer turns on with a blue screen (memory dump screen) and then now shows the timings on the boot screen.

Was my ram faulty or not compatible with this mobo or is it normal for a system to do this when you install new ram ?

Any idea's ?

Thanks

Bad memory can corrupt an OS. What is the BSOD? Will it boot to safe-mode? Have you tried lastknowngood config?

Also make sure you've reseated the original RAM, tried one DIMM at a time, different slot, etc.
