I was curious how long it takes you all to boot up on average with Vista. I thought Vista was supposed to boot up faster than XP, but my XP machine boots way faster than my Vista rig does. It takes me with entering my password for my user account about 50seconds.

Mine is probably about that (50s). Just go to the bathroom while it's booting and by the time you're back, it'll be all set to go! :) I'm on Vista 64 incidentally.

I find I have a significantly faster boot time with ReadyBoost, just FYI, plus I tweak services.

30-35 seconds till im logged in and can open IE7 with internet ( even though my network says its connecting ) but when i try opening mozilla for some reason it lags when opening... After about five seconds after fully being logged in my mozilla will open normally!

because it was made for systems rocking 512 megs of RAM and 750MHz CPUs.

I've tried to find out my problem but my boot up time is about 5 minutes (no kidding).

Cant seem to find out the cause. But since it goes into sleep mode 90% of the time i dont boot nearly as often as i did in XP (about once a month).

I think the cause is my network card (on mobo) is timing out at 3 min. But dont know how to fix it.

About a minute or less until I'm actually at the desktop and fully functional. It's fairly quick on all the systems I run it on, especially the 64bit versions.

5 min is a long time... have you checked to make sure you've got the latest BIOS and drivers for your hardware?

Yea everythings up to date. Read somewhere that if vista doesnt "See" one of your dvd drives unplug it and see if it helps. will try that tomorrow.

Need to change other one to master.
