Hi,
I saw that E616A3T is marketed on the market with Auto Vibration Reducing System (AVRS) but when I insert a disc and it start to spin it's very very noisy. What should I do to reduce this noise ? Did I put it wrong inside the case or should I put the screws more thight ?
Thanks

It's not the wind which is cuted by the disc, more it's like "vrooom" noise.
I'll take out this evening the dvd-rom out side to see if the same sound can be heard.

That just doesn't sound right. I'd contact Asus and see if you can RMA it for a replacement.

Hi,
I took it out yesterday and put it on my desk. It seems when it start to spin the disc the drive vibrate a little bit and that's the noise.
I remember in the past I had similar P-ATA drives from Asus with same noise.
Does anyone has a E616A3T Asus DVD-ROM which is silent when spining discs inside ?
My writer which is same Asus 1814BLT also S-ATA it's silent, but the transfer rate it's also slower a little bit.
