I think Comodo Antivirus is free for businesses and home, but I haven't tried it.

Assuming you want Windows stuff, ClamWin is opensource, so a business could use it for free. It scans emails, but unfortunately not normal on-access scanning of executables. If you have a good software firewall, and use Firefox with a plugin like Safe Download, you could get away with it.

You can always bookmark TrendMicro's House Call on your employee's computer and have them scan their computers periodically.

And as the persona above me said, AVG.

Honestly, if you're going to run a business, you need to buy something solid to ensure support and quality.

A 10-user license for NOD32 is just $500. For businesses, that amount of money should be nothing.

AVG is great and all, but it's worthless in a business environment if you want to centrally manage things.

Really depends on what you're going for. Pay up for NOD32 or Symantec Corporate if you want to actually manage the installations. Or just install AVG on each individual machine if you want to leave security up to the users.

AVG's free license doesn't apply to businesses. It's intended only for home use. Yes, someone could get away with it, but...

They are a client of mine. I am thinking about putting Avast on there and letting them pay for it once they have to. I was running AVG, but then I found out that it is not free for businesses.

Aye, central control is the way to go. Our company use McAfee Total Protection controlled by a central Security Center.

the Business version of McAfee Total Protection is great. It's not a resource hog like the home version is. You'll never even notice it's there. You don't even need to worry about updating it. Security Center does it for you in the background.

Here's a Flash demo of the central administration Security Center: https://www.mcafeeasap.com/downloads/index.html

Here's the price chart for Total Protection licenses: http://www.shopmcafee.com/dr/v2/ec_main.entry25?page=TopsPriceChart&client=McAfee&sid=43625

edit: I typed all this the same time the OP posted last :P I'm not gonna delete this dammit! lol

There are only four employees total and they don't have a server...so I'll just probably put Avast on each one of the machines.
