I just got the RRoD 10 minutes ago

i just bought the system this year so time line isnt an issue..

the issue is that we are in the process of moving, house is up for sale and should sell soon as theres quite a few that are very interested...

anyways i really dont know how much longer ill be residing here, so im asking former people that had their 360 repaired for RRoD as to how long it took them from the phone call to microsoft up till when the box arrives back at your door.

Thanks

Mine only took a little over a week believe it or not. I requested the repair July 14th, got the box July 19th Thursday, sent the xbox 360 July 21 Saturday, UPS sent it on July 23 Monday, MS received it on July 26 Thursday and received a letter from MS on Saturday saying that it's been fixed and i'm getting it on August 2nd Thursday. I'm very surprised and thankful it was a quick turnaround.

I think you can file a change of address with the postal service to have all your packages routed to your new address.

While true, I think you have to take another step so FedEx or UPS does the same. Or just tell the new tenants to hold your package for you.

just got off the phone with Microsoft..

i called today cause i hear they redirect calles overseas on weekends.. i got a lady named chee or chi or something like that, and could barely understand a damn word she was saying :p

trouble shooting took prolly like an hour cause i couldnt understand anything she was saying, but finally got it over with and "verified it was a overheating RRoD problem". uhhh, and why did i call in the 1st place..??

she said they send a box in like 3-5 days and when they get the console from me, then it will take 4-6 weeks to get it back to me! :(

i told her about my moving situation, and since it was 4-6 weeks wait i didnt want to send it in just yet, she said i could have it sent to a family member to hold it for me when m in the moving process...

she gave me the reference # to call back with and save the hassle of trouble shooting and just get the repairing started immediately

then she said as a gratitude offering they will be giving me a FREE one month gold subscription card!!!! i was liek OMG NO WAI!!

now i just wait till we are moving and then get it started then.

im still kinda like wtf about the free 1 month thing, their repair process takes more than 1 month, shouldnt they at least give me a 3 month gold sub?!?

anyways just thought id let y'all know what happened

I also got the 1month free card. My total turnaround, from the day the box arrived at my doorstep (shipped out the same day) to the day I got the console back was 3 and a half weeks. Up that to 4 weeks if you include how long it took for them to ship me the box.
