View Full Version : Invalid System Disk (how do I fix)
Okay so the other day when I was dicking around I changed my SATA cable from SATA 4 to I duno some other one. Then I went ahead and restarted got that msg so I was like hrm.. I should switch back. Okay so I did I'm back to SATA 4. But! I'm still getting that damn msg when I restart my comp. Then I have to click it to go ahead ect ect. How do I make it go away?
Vista 64bit being used here

It's not very clear, but can you get past that message and on to a working system, or will this just not boot at all? If it's not booting, you may have pulled out another cable, such as the other end of the SATA cable, connected to the drive.

Did you check boot order in bios? With my board i can choose the first boot device between 4 ide channels or 4 sata ports.

everything is the same as before, and yes I can get past it but it still pops up everytime which is annoying.

"Invalid system disk" is a BIOS message which indicates that the drive settings are telling BIOS to check a drive which isn't actually a bootable system drive. If you weren't getting it before, and do get it now, then it's simply not possible that "everything is the same as before".
To get rid of it you'll need the cables connected back as they were AND any changed BIOS settings altered back to what they were.
