I think this is a known issue. It occurs when you have memory hole/remapping enabled and 4GB or more of RAM (which of course happens only in x64). It affects only Creative cards. Solution I believe is either to lose some RAM (disable memory hole/remapping) or to mess around with drivers (some have supposedly had success).

Well I just hope the next driver release from creative will fix the problem.

Me too...I don't use Creative, but this is something that needs to be fixed for the sake of tech support everywhere.

this is the problem that did in Vista for me. I went back to XP (dual boot so no biggie) and have not even booted into Vista in weeks. I think I will wait till I get a DX10 title before booting into vista again. Hopefully that gives them the time they need to get the drivers worked out.

Is this problem with all Creative cards, or just the X-Fi's?

Yep - have the same issues. Driver related. I would think that Creative would fix this sometime by 2010. Don't hold your breath.

Well, damn. That sucks. This could be the Vista deal breaker for me.
