I just built a new pc. I went from amd to core 2 duo. It is running a clean installed win xp. My hard drive keep creating this noise every 2 secs interval (noise similar to when a HDD load). I s there a way to fix this? What is a possible problem? I use the same HDD from my AMD rig.

Close all programs then use task manager to see what is using your Proc, chances are the process will also be accessing you HDD.

Well i tried that. Closed down all the applications but it still have that noise every 2 secs. Do you think it has something to do with the BIOS setting?

Fast clicking like it's doing something or the spin-up like noise every 2 secs? If the drive is having power issues or dieing it'll make a spinning noise about every 2s.
