Hey all,

I'm having a bit of a problem with my new hard drives and Windows XP...

I've purchased two identical SATA2 Maxtor 320GB HD's, and I can get one running just fine. The second HD will show up in windows, but I cannot enable it. I've tried different SATA ports, and I've had no luck. Also, my WD3200 SATA drive works just fine when combined with the drive.

Can anyone tell me why my system won't allow me to enable the second hard drive? And is there any sort of fix out there for this problem?

Thanks,

- John

If it shows up in Windows what's to enable?

Is it formatted?

It shows up if I go to devices, but not at explorer... and I can't format it, because I can't see it in explorer or anything similar.

right-click my computer> manage
go to disk manager. right click the drive# at the bottom half of the screen, make it active then format it.
