Partition Magic and Losing Data

I am about to use Partition Magic on my 1 drive to make a 40 gig partition for Vista. I am gonna dual boot XP and Vista. What are the chances that I lose all my data when I use Partition Magic? I really don't feel like backing everything up but I will if I have too. Any tips?
