So I have been looking to purchase a copy of windows vista. My question is what is the difference in all these different versions and which is the best for a gamer? i have 64 bit too. what should i do?
Home Basic: Complete crap, no flashy Aero interface
Home Premium: Flashy Aero interface, Media Center
Business: Aero interface, Better networking and administration features, remote desktop
Ultimate: Everything + Bitlocker drive encryption and Ultimate Extras
All versions will be fine for DX10 and gaming.
Here's a fancy table from Microsoft putting them all side by side:

You should have done a little searching though, it's not like this information was particularly difficult to find... :p

That just means it's the less expensive OEM license which you're legally only ever allowed to use on the first PC you install it to, and for which you have to provide your own product support.
