i just picked up motorstorm for the ps3 and i'm having a blast playing online and listening to all the funny conversations. i'm having a hard time getting good at it and i'm not sure if it's my connection or what. what strategies do you guys use?

Just keep playing. Learn the tracks and all the shortcuts.
