I am having trouble installing games on 64 lately. I downloaded the latest patch for Total War MII and after it installed TW would not start. I uninstalled it via CP and reinstalled and then I recieved this message; CRC Error: The file g:\program files (x86) SEGA\ dbghelp.dll doesnt match the file in setup's.cab file.
I tried ignore but to no avail.
A similar problem is happening with COH, error 1335 the cabinet file 'data.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This indicates a network, an error reading from the CD ROM or a problem with this package. I hit ignore and I recieved this, Error 2350.FDI Server Error.
Any ideas? TIA.

you try running the games as admin? or even running the patch installs as an admin?

M2 worked for me until I installed the patch. The problem is that Vista will not let me reinstall the program. I get the above mentioned error message.

maybe its the media then...unless it works somewhere else? or you could try what i used to do and that is copy over the contents of the disc to a folder that was named the same as the CD...then reboot and go into safe mode and try the install from there. worked with an old RTCW disc that stopped working from the disc.

The media is fine as they both install on my laptop. I am beginning to think that it is a registry problem with Vista.
