What's up all,
I'm thinking about buying one of these 3007wfp-hc's. At $1499 on Dell's website it seems like a good deal. my question is, How's the FPS games with this monitor? Any ghosting? I currently have the 2407 and I've got 1 evga 8800gtx. 24" WAS nice, but 30" would be much better...

The only game I play is Company of Heroes and to me it looks awesome on the 3007HC at full resolution. I am not a big gamer, but it looks great to me.

I'd get another 8800GTX to run some of the more recent games if you are going to be gaming at that resolution.

I've got a 30" HC and it is wonderful for gaming. I'm running it off a single 8800GTX so I wouldn't worry about a second one unless you start having issues. If you're planning on playing Crysis or something brand new you may have some problems but the 3007wfp-HC is still worth every penny.

Sounds good. One thing I forgot to ask: has anybody tried running a game on the 30" at say 1920 X 1200 ( I think that's the rez for the 24")? I'm not in front of my computer right now.

It would look blurry if you could. The Dell doesn't have a scaler though, so its not possible, unless you want to play at 1:1 aspect. The Dell supports 1280x800 and 2560x1600. That's it.

This is confusing as hell.

1080p = 1920x1080

only 24" monitors have native resolution of 1920x1200????

my dell xps' 17" ws monitor has a native of 1920x1200 though.

Modern video cards can scale pretty nicely, and if you ask me 1920x1200 looks brilliant on a 30" screen. especially with 4x AA.

OK, just went over to the Dell site and, to confirm, the 2 "preset" display modes are: 1280 X 800 and 2560 X 1600. There were no other display listings. going on this info, am I to understand that the option of scaling down to 1920 X 1200 isn't possible? I am able to scale down on my 2407. Maybe I'm missing something? Is the scaling done via the 8800gtx?

Your 8800GTX should have the ability to do it, from what I'm gathering from other posters.

I kinda figured, just needed to hear it from someone else. Looks like I'm gettin' a 3007WFP-HC! Now, I just need to come up with 1500 beans to drop on it....Thanks to everybody for your input / suggestions....Later...:D

i am thinking of getting the HC.. i'm more into graphic design then gaming.. really could use the higher resolution and 'better' color.

you can get the 3007-hc for $1,199.20 before tax...

- current westinghouse 37" owner.. finding a hard time switching

Whoever said you can't run at non native resolutions is completely wrong. If the resolution is in the slider you cant use it, excepting maybe ultra low resolutions.

How could you have trouble switching from a 1920 x 1080 resolution blown up to 37 to a 2560 x 1600 resolution at only 30 inch? Plus the colors on the westy are crap (and yes I have seen the two sitting next to eachother after calibration).

Spill the beans...where!? Certainly not on Dell's website

I installed the Vista 101.70 beta drivers from nVidia last night and noticed all the scaling options were available again! This is good news for nVidia/Vista owners with 30" screens. I didn't have time to test it out but I will soon, unless someone beats me to it.
