BIOS boot problem

whenever i have a flash drive or my ipod in while i start my computer, the thing tries to boot from it. i have set my boot order many times but when i remove it and plug it back in what ever i just plugged in has the priority. so now with vista's ready boost i keep on unplugging the flash drive and plugging back in and it;s very annoying.

is there someway to lock the booting order.
