I have a dell d1626ht 21" trinitron crt, which will only work at 1600x1200, and only if I turn it off and on when the video mode is already set to 1600x1200. This is the resolution that I used when this was my main display.
Also before this issue happened, when it was set to 1280x1024 there was a buzzing noise.
Is this repairable? It hasn't been plugged in for a few months. Thanks.

Unless you really know what you are doing, take it to a professional or upgrade time.
Monitors can hold a charge much like a PSU, which can make them dangerous to work with unless you're particularly careful or know exactly what you're doing.

About the buzzing noise, I saw this at work before and I resolved this by changing the refresh rate. It seems that at certain refresh rate, if it is close to another thing who have some magnetic field, it buzz. This is a fix you could try to do.
If this can't be fixed, then it is wiser to ask for professional repair since it has very high voltage devices inside.

I think i may just use it as a seconday display, since the closest repair shop is a couple hours away anyways.
I can't believe I used to lug this thing to lan parties.
Thanks for the replies.
