Hi everyone, I have a quick question regarding the little security advisor pop-up in the system tray. Every time I boot up it pops up to tell me I've changed the security settings, is there any way to disable it?

Thanks!

Well, did you make some changes? If so, it's just notifying you so you understand it was a bad idea, obviously.

I'd like to help but there are various popups in Vista for a variety of reasons and I simply don't know which one you might be talking about. Snap a screenshot if you can and post it here, or at least the popup so I/we can figure out what you're talking about specifically.

Well if you disabled UAC turn it back on, also make sure the firewall is on (if need something to get past make an exception instead of turning it off). Also make sure any updates are installed and that some A/V software is installed as well. That should remove the icon.

Hmm... I'm a little disappointed with the replies, if I wanted all the clutter from the security stuff I would have left it working at the default settings.

Regardless, I got it worked out.

Thanks anyway!
