Can you set up a dual boot with XP and Vista using a SATA and IDE drive? I currently have XP installed on a SATA drive and have a spare IDE drive I was going to install Vista on. I'm already dual booting with another machine but with 2 SATA drives. I was wondering if it made a difference if one was SATA and one was IDE.
Thanks,
Scott

I don't think it matters... I can't really see any reason why it wouldn't work.
Of course, I could be wrong.

It will work fine...as mentioned it doesn't matter how the drives are set up.

It works, my computer's set up as xp on 200GB ide, and vista on 400GB sata. Vista gives me a boot loader on boot to choose vista or "older version of windows."

works for me
vista on the sata - xp on the ide - that boot loader pro thing is a godsend!
what made me smile is when i boot to the ide [xp] then that is the primary drive c:\
when i boot to vista on the sata, then that is the primary c:\
i personally got a chuckle out of that...
and then i went back to playing god of war 2
