The Wii-mote battery life...

Is it just me or does the Wii-mote seem to be continuously drawing power from the batteries even though the console is powered down? I'm using rechargeable AA and they last about 4 days on all 3 Wii-motes for 3 to 4 hours of regular play. But even if they are not played for a week the batteries still drain even after a full charge. At first i thought is was just the nature of rechargeable's so i tried regular alkaline batteries and it's the same thing. Is this normal or do i have a problem?

Sound's like you definitly have a problem, my stock wii batteries lasted me around a month before dying and then my I switched out to my rechargeables and they died within a week, so I charged them and now thier still going strong, I've had my wii since late Janurary, so I don't know whats up with yours, make sure thier lights are going off, since mine didn't shut off a few times automaticly so I had to unplug the system and replug it.

Well, I don't know about drainage but you might want to use high capacity batteries. Like the ones for cameras. They rulez.

Between the 2 360 remotes, the 2 Wiimotes and 1 Wavebird, rechargeable batteries were getting thin. So I now use the 360 charge pack and plan to get a charge pack for the Wii as well.

I just recently bought a rechargeable kit so I hope they work out. My stock wii batteries lasted a good while...they probably would have lasted longer if I turned off the rumble. Also, turning down the wii-mote speaker volume should help.

What brand and type of batteries are you using?

The wii-remote battery life sucks. Myself and the 2 friends who have one have the same shitty battery life.

I left my wiimotes sitting on the couch, when they would get moved by the cushion moving, they would turn on briefly to search out the console.

Albeit, that isnt the only reason my batteries die fast, but every little bit helps. Turn down the volume on the controller itself and by some nice recharbables and you should be good.

Ah I should of mentioned that I turned off the speaker volume as it sounds shitty to me, and I much prefer the tv to do it instead.

I have actually had pretty good battery life with both of my Wiimote. I use the cheapo Rayovac Alkalines from walmart and they last me a good month or so.

I figured out why my wiimote batteries drained quickly in my case, it turned out that if you don't watch how or where you keep them, you could end up having a button continuously pressed.

I use 2500 ma nimh batteries for all 4 of my wiimotes. So that's managed to cut my costs down considerably since getting a wii.

I use 1800mAH AAs and I generally get at least 2-3 weeks and play about an hour a day.

I'm guessing also that games that utilize the nunchuk drain the batteries a little faster as well.

The batteries i'm using are 4 sony 2700mAH AA's and 4 duracell 2650mAH that get shared bettween the 360 controller and logitech wireless controller for the PS2 and PC versions. In the 360 and Logitech controllers the batteries are last a lot longer. So i'll give Nintendo a call to see what the have to say i'll update later.

Where did you get those Sony 2700mAHs? I def need those for my S1 IS camera, that sucker eats my 1800s.
