Im in need of upgrading my display pretty badly. Im using an ACER AL1931 LCD which is 24ms, and I can get this monitor for cheap (http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustratingReview.asp?Item=N82E16824252011) it say 2ms, but will this perform as well as the Viewsonic VX922 2ms monitor? I do game, so ghosting is of a primary concern. I can also ge this one **SAMSUNG 941BW Black 19" 4 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 500:1 - Retail**
Which one do I choose?

Let me re-phrase my question: I have a the choice between these 2 LCD monitors
SAMSUNG 941BW Black 19" 4 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen
CHIMEI CMV 946D Silver-Black 19" 2ms DVI Widescreen
I noticed the samsung uses an A-SI TFT/TN panel, and the CHIMEI uses a TFT/LCD, which is better for gaming? The samsung is 4ms, and the CHIMEI is 2ms, there very close in price, but which is the better moniter for gaming? Thank you

Stay away from Acer panel. Nothing but trouble. They are cheap for a reason. I would take the Samsung hand down. Samsung made pretty good monitor.

Samsung simply because of build quality and reputation.

im not buying an acer, im REPLACING an acer. So even though the CHIMEI is 2ms, the samsung will be better for games?

I'd go for the Samsung, who the hell is Chimei? :) With response times like that the Chimei will be a TN panel too.

FYI They're BOTH LCD panels and both are TN (going by the response time).
Definately go with the Samsung.

Really, even thought the CHIMEI is a 2ms panel?

Ther's no way to know how accurate their specs are sicne every manufacturer uses a different testing method for response time. GTG just means that they tested the response time by changing from one shade of grary to another, but they don't tell you what shades of gray they use (very light to very dark, or light to medium for example). The response of a pixel is going to difference depending on how much it has to change to represent the new color So, even though the timing is 2ms, that could be going for dark gray to medium, and a full spectrum change would take a bit longer (say 5ms).
In all actually I bet there is no difference in timing between the Samsung and the Chimei. I'd even be willing to bet they use the same panel, just used different testing methods to give response times. Go with the Samsung as their quality and reputation are well established.
