Is there a way to disable the taskbar sidebar icon?

Yep, turn off the sidebar;)

I'm just playin'... but as far as I know there is no way to turn it off, I just hide it.

I guess that's what I meant...."hiding" it. But yeah I can't find the option anywhere :(

Doesn't it stop from loading when you uncheck the option to start the Sidebar when windows loads?

Right click on the taskbar>properties>notifications area. In the "Icons" area choose customize, and click on Windows Sidebar, and choose hide. That will keep it from showing up in the tray.

That hides ALL unactive icons, which personally I hate. So there isn't a way to hide JUST that icon?

No, it doesn't;)

You need to select "Customize" and then you can choose the ones you want to hide... Select Windows Sidebar, and in the drop down menu you can choose to hide, show, or hide when inactive.
