do the items work? or are they ESD'd to death?

honestly i'm afraid to try them because of the amount of hardware in my machine. even if they do work they might have some damage that could not be readily apparent :(. even the harddrive in baggie could be damaged from no padding, perhaps. any advice? i spent $250 bucks on all this.

damn, I've bought from him before, packaged extremely well too...

crazy that he did that, try to catch him on aim, I'm always talking to him on there ;)

the last thing he asked me for on aim was to send the paypal virtual cc exe again. i'm still waiting for him to come online.

I think you should try them first.
I bought 2 74gb raptors a year ago and they came inside a box with no protection at all.
They work fine to this date.

i'll try it but its sure going to be a pain to remove if they dont' when you have 9 harddrives and all the power cords to move around lol :D

Don't install the drives.
Just let the drives sit somewhere close to your mobo and hook'em up.
Once you confirm they do work then you can put those in the case. ;)

They do make anti-static bubble wrap (http://www.papermart.com/index/index_packaging_anti-static.htm)

Hope everything works out for both of you.

wow neat

he said he was going to refund me the price of the $50 of the audigy. i'm still waiting for him to do it. ;). too bad some of the peanuts were right and probably not anti-static lol

he said he doesn't know what he was thinking that day. oh well.

i just hope the harddrives are ok.

I have traded with introgamer aswell and he has done well packaging and About the Cancer part that is true He is in my state in Massachusetts. Im pretty new on here But I am on Anandtech and Techimo I have been on Techimo for years. Try parts out if they work I will try to contact him for you. By the way You guys should get one of the IDE to USB adapter I have one just to test drives :) No drivers needed Just plug and ready to go cost me like 15 bucks from ebay beats buying a enclosure.

well we have had this discussion before about bubble wrap and static everyone jumped on bubble wrap and said it will give you problems down the road or maybe be un-noticeable! i receive parts like this all the time from careless people on hardforum.. just recently got a cpu/mobo/hsf wrapped in paper loose in the box wtf?! it still worked and was incredibly cheap so no big deal to me just weirdo's when it comes to packing.. im curious to the price you paid for the front panel..

as far as the hard drives i dont know if testing them is enough i can see more damage to something like that then the bubble wrap and static shocking something

since the drive arrived damaged and he's admitted to not packing it right, is it wrong to ask him for the money to ship it to seagate?
