is there a way to play .mov files with WMP 11?

is there a way to play .mov files with Windows Media player 11 on vista. I tried quicktime 7 but I get bluescreens when I try to play any .mov files.

Try Quicktime Alternative, it installs the Quicktime codec without the Quicktime player, so you can use any Direct Show player, including WMP11.

Your best bet is with something like QuickTime Alternative. WMP11 is notoriously picky when it comes to trying to play QuickTime files, even if the proper codecs are installed. But QuickTime Alternative uses Media Player Classic to handle that particular function, and it does so much better than WMP11 ever will.
