The RIAA has been ordered to pay the legal fees of a woman they improperly sued (http://www.hardocp.com/news.html?news=MjQwMDEsLCxobmV3cywsLDE=) back in 2004. The case was thrown out by a judge and the RIAA has to cough up legal fees as well.

In his ruling, Judge West found that the RIAA had asserted an untested and marginal theory that veered toward "frivolous and unreasonable" by suing Foster for contributory and vicarious copyright infringement when the only evidence against her was her name on the household Internet account.

That would describe all of their lawsuits, those stickass bastards.

Agreed. I think that these lawsuits are kinda like the US Prohibition--they banned alcohol, so suddenly alcohol use began to rise and there was a black market for it. If you push so hard against your paying customers, they're going to try to screw you behind your back.

Yeah, and unfortunately Prohibition spawned NASCAR, so I wonder what rednecks will create from this someday :p

Good.....hit them in the wallet......I hope they continue to lose the bogus cases they file....maybe they wont feel so "tough" anymore....

The RIAA cartel is like organized crime. If our government wasn't so corrupt they would go after them on anti-trust issues.
