which OS to game?

well im thinking of reformatting my computer and i can eather install windows xp pro w/sp2, windows 2000, or windows 98se. I mainly use my computer for gaming, and i know windows xp is mabey more securer, but to be honest that is the least of my worries. In your opnion or from proven fact, which would be better. For the windows 2000, it comes with no service pack, but i can install the sp4 which i think is the newest they have if needed.

If you play older dos/win95/win98 games, I say dual boot Win98,(old games), and Xp sp2,(everything else + newer games)..
If the games you play all run fine under XP, then XPsp2 would be my choice..

If you go with Win2000 make sure you slipstream it first with latest service pack , autostreamer does the job in a couple of minutes :D

are there any other opinions that anyone would like to share on what is should do? I dont really want to upgrade to vista yet to mabey later on during the year.
