14 days would work, i basically just want to demo it on a couple of machines before i decide on which on to go with..

mainly due to hardware issues (seems most the drivers needed for my machines are coming out the first week of february)

I installed an OEM version of home premium yesterday, and it told me I had 3 days to activate it.

The OEM versions may have some extra restrictions on them. Newegg has a big notice that says the software cannot be transfered to a defferent PC once it's installed. Microshaft may actually enforce this. If you upgrade too much or build a new PC you *may* have to buy a new license. Hope they weren't stoopid enough to go this route, I'm already pissed that I have to call some idiot in India each time I re-install XP...if they ever refused to give me an activation code I'd be PISSED.

What would happen if you reinstalled it every 14 days? Would it not let you install or only run in limited mode at some point?

Resets at that point, so, I don't see why that wouldn't work.
A new thing about Vista is that you can install w/o a CD key. If I was going to just test it out, I'd do that

Choose the system with the best specs. Ryan from PCPER was able to reactivate, but it did take a call to MS to do it.

30 days in any version if you don't enter a key.
3 days in any version if you enter a key but choose a different version than what the key was associated with.

Naw...I entered the key for oem Home Premium and it only installed home Premium.(did not give me any other choices)
Still wanted to be activated in 3 days.

well great news..

30days on mu premium oem..

when installing there is a screen that you input the product key..

below is a check box : Activate windows when i am online.

uncheck that, or else it will automatically activate it when you go online..
