I am sorry if this has been discussed before.
I am planning to but windows vista very soon and wanted your opinions before i did.
I am thinking either home premium or the ultimate version. I did not use or even see neither versions. I dont know the difference of the two in detail. Do you think it is worth to get ultimate for the difference in price?
I mainly use my computer to play games and watch movies. I believe the home premium will be enough but i like to have extra stuff. And since i will be using it for a real long time i feel like it would worth to get the ultimate.
What you guys think?

All signs point to Yes.
If you want to make the ultimate mistake then yes, otherwise do yourself a favor and stick to XP.

I can see where you're concerned. I'm just not sure if the difference between Home Premium and Ultimate is worth the $80 difference.

I think ultimate for you since you have the money, like extra things and will keep it a long time. I got Vista Ultimate for those same reasons and I'm very happy with it.

I think that you should find the link one here that is a nice graph between the features and make up your own mind, instead of having people on a forum tell you what you should buy. I know that sounds harsh, but we don't know anything about you usages, what features you may or may not want, etc. Compare them, and decided yourself, since you will be the one using the computer.

I went with the Vista Home Premium because I mainly use my rig for regular gaming, networking, and surfing the web. I did not need the extra networking features that the Ultimate version provide. Although the price is just a mere $80, I could not justify that amount for something that I might or even never use at all.

Checklist (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/editions/default.mspx)
Going by the version checklist they have the differences between Premium and Ultimate, besides the $80 are:
-Remote Desktop
-Backup Features(System Restore)
-Drive Encryption
Personally I never bother using remote desktop, system restore I always disable, and if I need something encrypted I have other programs I use so it really wasn't worth the difference to me.
